Two pilots have been fired from a small US airline after the emergency door flew out of its frame and onto the runway shortly before takeoff. One passenger estimates the aircraft was moving around 160kmh when he heard a “loud bang”. Boutique Air, which operated the flight from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport to Ironwood, Michigan, said the pilots had been sacked for not completing a pre-flight checklist. Passenger Tom Yon told KBJR-TVthat the suction from the missing door lifted a bag that was right by his side and tossed it straight out of the plane.
