After a red-carpet welcome to the Port City that included big crowds, tugboat water shows, and a 30-vessel welcome flotilla, the all-female-crewed racing yacht Maiden is launching a week of activities in Saint John.

A partnership linking kid-friendly organizations will see more recreation options for youth in Grand Bay-Westfield who historically have been underserved.
The River Valley Community Center board is teaming up with the Saint John Boys and Girls Club to offer programming three days a week.
Recreation committee co-chair Brittany Merrifield says it includes leadership and STEM programming and a Friday-night teen drop-in.
“Not just middle school age, those high-schoolers are welcome. That will be more of an informal drop-in with games, arts and crafts and general hanging out,” Merrifield said.
