SHANGLA: The patients of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Shangla district are living in constant fear of losing life due to high vulnerability to novel coronavirus.
Many of them insist that their lungs have stopped working.
Gul Afsar, who worked in a coalmine of Hangu district for 22 years, told
Dawn that his brother had died after fighting COPD for four years, while he was infected with the black lung disease, which was also called the coalminers’ pneumoconiosis (CWP).

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Coronavirus on Friday has claimed life of another doctor in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to details, Dr Muzaffar was under treatment at Saidu Teaching Hospital after he was tested positive for the virus. Provincial doctors association told that the novel coronavirus has taken lives of 37 doctors in the province.
On the other hand, Pakistan has reported 83 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 451,494. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 9,164.
