Today, the 2nd Heavy Penal Court of Ankara will read out the verdict on Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov murder case.
At the end of November 2018, the prosecutor s office of Ankara sent an indictment to the 2nd Heavy Penal Court of Ankara. The case has 28 suspects, including the leader of the Fethullah Terrorist Group (FETO) Fethullah Gulen, as well as former civil servant Sahin Sogut, who allegedly ordered the murder of the Russian diplomat.
The suspects are accused of violation of constitutional order, being member of an armed terror group, and deliberate killing with objective of spreading terror. In addition, the indictment says the assassination is an act of provocation targeting Turkey-Russia relations, TASS reports.
Suspects, linked to opposition figure Gulen, are accused of helping gunman who was killed by special forces shortly after he assassinated ambassador Andrei Karlov in Ankara
