Proposal approved to procure vaccines from China The government approved a proposal in principle to procure SARS COV 2 (COVID-19) vaccines from Sinopharm of China under Direct Procurement Method (DPM) in order to meet the growing demand of vaccines in the country. The approval came from the 15th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in this year held virtually today with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair. Briefing reporters after the meeting virtually, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Dr Sahida Akhter said that the proposal was given approval considering protection of public health, reducing COVID-19 infection rate on emergency state purpose.

Govt to procure 33.60 lakh MMBtu LNG 366 DHAKA, April 21, 2021 (BSS) – The government will procure some 33.60 lakh MMBtu of LNG from Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore at a cost of around Taka 267.58 crore in a bid to meet the growing demand of LNG in the country. The purchase proposal was approved at the 15th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) of this year held today virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair. Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, Cabinet Division additional secretary Dr Sahida Akhter said the meeting approved a total of eight proposals. She informed that the import of per unit MMBtu LNG would cost the government $8.012.

Govt to procure 50,000 metric tons of non Basmati rice 203 DHAKA, April 7, 2021 (BSS) – The government will procure 50,000 metric tons of non Basmati boiled rice from M/S PK Agri Link Private Ltd India with around Taka 174.66 crore in a bid to meet the growing demand. The approval came from the 14th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) in this year held virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair. Briefing reporters virtually after the meeting, Cabinet Division additional secretary Dr Sahida Akhter said that the meeting approved a proposal from Petrobangla under the Energy and Mineral Resources Division for procuring 33.60 lakh MMBtu LNG from AOT Trading AG, Switzerland with a cost of around Taka 243.30 crore.
