Betty Akeredolu unveils Yellow Card initiative

TODAY February 19, 2021 The wife of the Ondo State Governor, Betty Akeredolu, has unveiled an initiative ”Yellow Card” to identify early warning signs of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in schools. Speaking at the unveiling and the training workshop organised for Counselors in Oke-Agbe in Akoko North West Local Government Area, Akeredolu, said that the yellow card initiative into schools and develop a plan for the next step to build prevention. The governor’s wife, represented by Mr Austin Otabor, the Coordinator, ”Betty Anyawu Akeredolu Foundation, (BAAF)” said the objective of the training is to understand ethical issues related to GBV and bring out qualities of a good councelor, possible challenges and how to address them.

Akinwale Aboluwade  The Oyo State Government has reportedly reached a compromise with the representatives of Hausa community to relocate okada riders encroaching the Scout Camp Neighborhood Business Complex in Ibadan in a bid to ensure peaceful cohabitation among all tribes in the state. It was noted during the flag-off ceremony of Oja Agbe recently that more than 50 commercial okada riders were encroaching the complex at night thereby raising concerns on security of lives and properties of traders in the market. The Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Mr Adeniyi Adebisi, presided over an emergency meeting with representatives of head of the Hausa community in Ibadan, to discuss the way forward on the security issue in the area.

Oyo govt releases 50 stalls to farmers

Share The Oyo State government has released 50 open stalls in the Scout Camp Neighbourhood market, Ibadan, at no cost, to the “Oja-Agbe” Farmers Association for the next one year. Speaking at the event, state Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Mr Adeniyi Adebisi, said the gesture is to enable farmers in the state easily dispose off their farm products. Adebisi added that the gesture was aimed at improving the economic wellbeing of traders and growing the economy of the state. He urged the farmers to reciprocate government’s gesture by ensuring a transformation of trading and economic activities in the Scout Camp Market.

Akin Aboluwade The Oyo State Government on Thursday, in Ibadan, launched the ‘Oja-Agbe’ Farmers Association in support of agricultural value chain in the state. The gesture, the state government said, was specifically targeted at providing a conducive platform for the economic turnaround of the state, the traders and agricultural investors. The Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Cooperatives in the state, Adeniyi Adebisi, while flagging off the Oja-Agbe market at the Scout Camp Neighbourhood Business Complex, Challenge, Ibadan on Thursday, advised the practitioners to take good advantage of the donation. According to Adebisi, Governor Seyi Makinde-led government was determined to improve the lot of farmers economically and socially. He added that the Oja Agbe would aid the farmers and others within the value chain to market their produces with ease.
