Protesters at Dankaur railway station in Greater Noida
GHAZIABAD/NOIDA: Passenger train services were mostly unaffected in NCR cities on Thursday as farmers took part in the ‘rail roko’ programme for about four hours.
In Ghaziabad, several farmers sat on railway tracks at Modinagar resulting in a Haridwar-bound train to halt for about 45 minutes. In neighbouring Noida, protesters stopped the Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast Express for around 30 minutes near Dankaur station.
In Gurgaon, farmers blocked the railway tracks at Farrukhnagar, leading to Adani Logistic Park. Although the protest continued till 4 pm, passenger train services were not disrupted on the route.
