Jamaicans Kimeone McLeod of Florida A&M University, Travis Robinson and Dominique Clarke of the University of Albany, and Zayne Palomino of Southern Miss University all set championships records at their respective NCAA Indoor track and field conference championships that ended on Tuesday. A number of indoor conferences started over the weekend, setting the pace for the major championships set to start on Thursday before the NCAA Division 1 and 2.
After having just competed at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's Safiya John is now being recognized as a second-team All-American but will compete elsewhere next season.
Safiya John had already made history as the first athlete from a historically Black college/university to compete in the NCAA heptathlon finals in Eugene, Ore.
