WCCO Belting receives safety awards from North Dakota Safety Council

WAHPETON, N.D. WCCO Belting Inc. has made safety a major priority over the past two years.
Others are taking notice.
The 67-year-old rubber manufacturer recently received the Workplace Safety Merit Award and the Safety Improvement Award from the North Dakota Safety Council for reducing the company s incident rate by 50.2 percent from 2019 to 2020.
Black Construction Corporation received a National Excellence in Construction Eagle Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors.
It was for the P-1705 Wharf Refueling Capability project in Diego Garcia, British Indian Ocean Territory, a Guam Contractors Association news release stated.
The awards program is the national construction industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects, the release stated.
Black Construction also was honored with a 2020 National Safety Merit Award.
Winners were selected from ABC member firms that achieved Diamond, Platinum and Gold status in ABC’s STEP Safety Management System in 2020, the release stated.
