This DUI Sobriety and Safety Checkpoint is being conducted in conjunction with the Waterbury Police Department - Traffic Services and the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation and National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration. The checkpoint will be happening tonight between the hours of 8 PM and 1 AM in the area of 3670 East Main Street. This checkpoint is going to be located on the Waterbury/Cheshire town line, right in front of the strip mall that houses a couple of my favorite places: Tiramisu Restaurant and Cheshire Coffee. This is also a very busy stretch of road due to Costco and Kohl s, and it s right up the street from Blackie s. If you re coming in from Cheshire into Waterbury this evening on East Main Street, expect to be delayed after 8 PM.
