Several months after launching quarantine-free flights to Sydney and Melbourne, New Zealandâs national carrier has just done the same for Brisbane. Flight NZ147 departed Auckland at 7:40 a.m. yesterday, with all passengers aboard exempt from mandatory self-isolation in Queensland. Those looking to board these flights are required to complete the Australia Travel Declaration form at least 72 hours before departure, stating that they have remained in New Zealand for at least 14 consecutive days preceding the trip. The declaration must be presented when boarding and also on arrival in Australia.
Air New Zealand operated its first quarantine-free flight from Auckland to Brisbane on 7 January with passengers not required to quarantine on arrival.

New Zealand has a deal for 1.5 million doses of Pfizer s COVID-19 vaccine. The drug company is applying for Emergency Use Authorisation in the US, which would open the door for millions of doses to be distributed globally. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says a vaccine is likely to be on our shores by March 2021. Photo credit: Getty
