Reporter after the shooting here on malcolm x boulevard at the top of the park stairs police learned the victim is a student across the street at madison park. The 16yearold student stumbled back on School Grounds after being shot in the leg after 12 15 this afternoon. The shooting happened across the street in a park surrounded by three schools. All schools went into safe mode or lock down. They said clear the hallways and stuff like that. Everything was locked. Then all of a sudden this teacher came in the hallway and told us to close our windows. At that point we were scared because we thought they were in the building.
