Murfreesboro, TN – “The Child Advocacy Center is hosting the local 11th Annual 19 Days of Activism for the Prevention of Violence Against Children and Youth by partnering with local agencies to increase awareness about child abuse,” said Community Education Coordinator Carrie Norvell. “The goal is to educate the community through a social media campaign on how to protect children from child abuse, how to react responsibly, and report suspected abuse.&rdquo .
Family Justice Center offers abuse victims services in Oak Ridge

A new facility with services for victims of elder abuse, domestic abuse, sexual assault and exploitation has opened in Oak Ridge. It s more than a place. It s a philosophy, Anderson County District Attorney General Dave Clark said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. He said the facility will help our most tender victims in their darkest hour.
The center is at 301 Broadway Avenue, Unit 1A, with offices on the top story of a building that features a recent mural.
Melissa Miller, the family justice center s executive director, said the various agencies and law enforcement groups were already offering the services the family justice center will offer, but the new center puts them under one roof. She called it a one stop shop for these victims.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tennessee (WSMV) A new program in the Midstate hopes to keep more families together.
It’s called Safe Baby Court and it’s now in Rutherford County. It’s been around since last June. Right now, 16 families are part of the program. News4 was there for the special moment when a mother graduated and was reunited with her children on Friday.
“You’re the one that’s going to set the bar,” Judge Donna Scott Davenport said to the graduate.
The graduate is the first for the Rutherford County Safe Baby Court.
