ANN ARBOR, MI Ann Arbor planning officials are continuing to explore areas of the city to allow downtown-style development outside of downtown.
City Planner Alexis DiLeo proposed four areas to rezone in a report to the Planning Commission Tuesday night, March 9.
That includes parts of Plymouth Road, Washtenaw Avenue, the West Stadium Boulevard and Maple Road area, and the State Street and Eisenhower Parkway area.
The goal is to get some downtown-like streetscapes outside of downtown, DiLeo said.
“I think there was some concern in the community that every corridor was going to be lined with high-rises, but we’re talking about some very discrete areas of the city,” she said.
