The governor of one of two central banks in civil war-torn Libya has asked to resign, saying threats are increasing, according to media reports.
Ali el-Hibri wrote to the speaker of Libya’s house of representatives, several media outlets reported on March 3. El-Hibri said that he wanted to resign as he had reached the central bank’s statutory resignation age.

Head of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj, departed Libya on Sunday, tasking his deputy Ahmed Maiteeq with his duties.
Sarraj did not disclose the purpose or destination of his trip. Sources close to him said he was traveling to London with his wife on a private visit.
Sarraj has yet to set a date for the hand over of power to his successor. It also remains unclear whether he will take part in the handover ceremony.
Meanwhile, newly-appointed head of the Presidential Council Mohammed al-Menfi met with speaker of the east-based parliament, Aguila Saleh, in the city of al-Bayda.

National Oil Corp. (NOC) and KPMG Tunisia have reached a deal on new financial and administration systems.
The Libyan company said it aimed to mechanise its works and introduce digital technology across its operations. NOC will use the new systems for exploration, production, industrialisation, marketing and human resources, NOC chairman Mustafa Sanalla said.
