Sadie Finch of Jacksonville and Tristen Tewes of Pleasant Plains have been named to the spring semester dean’s list at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb.
To earn dean’s list honors, a student must earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, or a minimum of 3.75 grade point average in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts. Sadie Finch of Jacksonville and Tristen Tewes of Pleasant Plains have been named to the fall semester dean’s list at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or a 3.75 or higher grade point average in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts. Young people are leading the campaign for greater awareness and better insurance coverage for those in the Cayman Islands battling mental health issues.
The Youth Ambassadors group, comprising teenagers and young adults from across the islands, was one of the leading advocacy groups for the decriminalisation of suicide.
But its members insist their mission does not stop there.
“We were very happy that we were able to help get suicide decriminalised but there is so much more we are looking to accomplish,” said Cristin Jackson, one of the group’s leaders.
