ICRA estimates the securitisation volumes, originated largely by NBFCs and housing finance companies, to have grown by about 70% to Rs. 73,000 crore in H1 FY2023 compared to over Rs. 43,000 crore reported in H1 FY2022.
Buoyancy in securitisation, supported by a favourable macroeconomic scenario and healthy credit demand, resulted in volumes increasing by nearly 70% to Rs73,000 crore in the first half (H1) of FY22-23. Mortgage-backed loans formed the largest chunk of total securitised volumes at about 46%, followed by vehicle loans at 28%, says a report.
