Come May, Southlake will get a new mayor.
City council member and deputy mayor pro tem John Huffman is set to face attorney Debra Edmondson in the race.
Mayor Laura Hill, elected in May 2015 and re-elected in 2018, is prevented by term limits from running again.
Huffman, who was elected to the Place 5 seat in 2015 and has been a Southlake resident since 2008, is a small business owner. Edmondson, a 25-year resident of Southlake, had an unsuccessful bid last fall for the Texas House District 98 seat, which Republican Rep. Giovanni Capriglione has held since 2013.
