The three schedules merged on Friday in Grand Rapids for round seven of the U.S. Open, with the top players from different groups clashing for the first time, shaking up the standings in the process. With his seventh-round win over GM Dmitry Gurevich, GM Andrew Tang now sits atop the standings with 6½/7, having drawn GM David Brodsky in round six.
Day four of the U.S. Open saw the end of the invitational tournaments, the first master-on-master match-ups of the traditional open schedule, and the first round of the six-day Open as well. Let's get caught up!
