RANAU: Some 307 women participated in the Outreach Santuni Wanita Programme organised by the Sabah Women’s Affairs Department (JHEWA) held at the Ranau Community Hall on Monday.
The comprehensive Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan 2021-2025 is showing a positive impact.
Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin said this can be seen through the amount of foreign investment and implementation of development programmes that reflect the government’s concern for the people.
“Through the effective leadership of the State Government with a comprehensive development plan and a close relationship with the Federal Government, I am confident that Sabah will continue to be on the right track to achieve success more rapidly,” he said.
He said the digitisation initiative towards Smart Government by the State Government within five years starting 2020 is able to meet the needs.

Kota Kinabalu: The State Government should designate Tungku as a full district in order to spur economic growth there.

(pic) (Parti Warisan Sabah-Tungku) said Tungku, which has been a sub-district for two decades, had been the largest tax contributor to Lahad Datu thanks to the plantation sector, including Felda.
He said the status of land there, most of which is designated for agriculture, could be changed in order to include other sectors such as commerce, industry and housing development, adding that this would provide other tax revenues.
