Hartford, CT Yard Goats infielder Elehuris Montero went 4-4, including a home run and 3 RBI leading Hartford to a 9-6 victory against the Altoona Curve on Sunday night in front of a capacity crowd at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. Montero had singles in his first two at-bats, gave the Yard Goats the lead with a two-run hit in the fifth inning, and ended his tremendous night with a solo home run in the seventh, his ninth of the year. The Yard Goats took three of five games against the Curve to win and have a three-game win-streak.

Hartford, CT- Yard Goats catcher Willie MacIver blasted a franchise record three home runs, leading Hartford to a 7-5 victory over the Altoona Curve in the first game of a doubleheader. Playing in just his third game since getting promoted to the Yard Goats, MacIver hit a three-run homer, two-run homer and solo shot. In game two, Matt Dennis worked five impressive innings, catcher Max George homered, and infielder Taylor Snyder hit the go-ahead single as the Yard Goats defeated Altoona 2-1, completing a doubleheader sweep.
In game one, the Yard Goats scored four runs in the second inning off Altoona starter Osvaldo Bido, highlighted by a pair of home runs. Elehuris Montero singled and Willie Abreu walked before Willie MacIver cranked a three-run homer into the left field seats, giving Hartford a 3-0 lead. Manny Melendez followed with a solo shot to right field as the Yard Goats hit back-to-back homers.
