Dimapur, Oct. 24 (EMN): As part of the ‘Hospital outreach activity,’ Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, conducted an essay writing competition for higher classes and drawing competition for lower classes at Christian Residential Higher Secondary School, Artang Ward, on October 10 on the theme ‘Importance of cleanliness in our lives.’ An update from the hospital informed that the winners were felicitated on October 20 during the school assembly by Dr. S Marina Yaden, medical superintendent, while Dr. Alemba R Jamir, medical doctor, also gave a health talk on the importance of cleanliness. All the participants were given certificate of participation along with token gifts. It added that the winners in both the categories were also given cash awards of INR 2000, INR 1000 and INR 500 respectively.
Dimapur, Oct. 10 (EMN): World Mental Health Day (WMHD) was observed across the state on Monday on the theme ‘Make mental health & well-being for all a global priority.’ Kohima: The district mental health programme (DMHP) Kohima observed World Mental Health Day to commemorate the significance of the day. An update informed that Dr. Nuvotso Khesoh, senior psychiatrist and nodal officer of DMHP, Kohima, highlighted on important mental health issues, causes, stigma-related issues and treatment. Managing Director, NHAK, Dr. Vibeituonuo Mepfuo, in her address said that health is not only about physical well-being but also mental well-being, which is why holistic approach should be adopted in terms of treatment. Referrals services should be practiced by all departments to cater to the overall well-being of the patients, she added.
