The Delhi High Court on Monday dismissed a public interest litigation challenging the Reserve Bank of India s decision to withdraw Rs 2,000 notes from circulation.A division bench of Chief Justice.
“It was a transitory kind of note to fill in the value which was lost in demonetisation," said Sudhakar Kaza, former managing director of Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Private Ltd, the division of RBI which prints banknotes.
Two agents have been arrested for allegedly duping Sri Lankan nationals on the pretext of sending them to Canada via India illegally, police said on Saturday. The accused have been identified as Mahenthiraraja 63, a resident of Sri Lanka, and Selvakulendran 56, a resident of Tamil Nadu, they said.
