A CHARITY run has been hailed as a success, as people from around the country took up the challenge. Around 84 runners and walkers took part in the Helmsley Sports Club Virtual 5k and 10k Run over the Easter bank holiday weekend. The virtual run, which was organised by Helmsley Sports Club, raised just under £1,000. All the donations will be split between Helmsley Sports Club and Next Steps Mental Health Resource Centre in Norton, which nurtures mental health in Ryedale. The organisers thanked everyone who supported the event, which attracted individuals and families from all over Ryedale and nationally, from as far afield as Wales.
