A Christchurch man being sought by police has been found and is facing multiple burglary and driving charges. Last week, police issued a public plea urging for information on 30-year-old Ryan Vlietstra, who was wanted on multiple warrants to arrest. Police arrested Vlietstra last Friday. He appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Tuesday on charges of burglary, driving while disqualified, unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle, breaching court release conditions, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and theft. He was set to reappear in court on May 17.

Police are urging the public to come forward with information on alleged offender Ryan Vlietstra. Vlietstra was wanted on multiple warrants to arrest, a police spokeswoman said. The 30-year-old should not be approached, she said. Vlietstra was jailed in 2010 after an armed robbery attempt at the Glenbyre Tavern in Bromley, where a shot was fired from a cut-down .22 rifle and a man was injured.
