Yu Darvish held a press conference on Thursday to discuss his trade from the Chicago Cubs to the San Diego Padres. While Darvish seemed excited to be heading to San Diego, he was puzzled as to why the Cubs traded him away and are cutting payroll instead of trying to compete.
ESPN s Jesse Rogers found this Darvish quote particularly interesting:
Yu Darvish: “With what’s happening with the coronavirus and the money the Cubs have, I wasn’t thinking about being traded. And also, they are a winning team and I thought we would be able to compete.” Jesse Rogers (@JesseRogersESPN) December 31, 2020
Paul Chryst Didn t Get Doused in Mayo and Twitter Was Furious With Duke s Mayonnaise

Imagine anticipating something different and amazing, then having it all fall apart as you watch on national television. That just happened for all of Twitter at the end of the Duke s Mayo Bowl on Wednesday afternoon.
As Wisconsin was closing out a 42-28 win over Wake Forest, all of Twitter was excited to see Badgers head coach Paul Chryst get doused in mayonnaise like a poorly-made club sandwich. Unfortunately, the punchline didn t deliver on its premise.

We ve already discussed our disappointment with the Duke s Mayo Bowl already, but more has happened in the aftermath of Wisconsin s 42-28 win over Wake Forest. After head coach Paul Chryst wasn t doused with mayonnaise in the post game celebration, there was more disappointment in the Badgers locker room:

Trevor Bauer s Feud With Jon Heyman Is Painfully Stupid

Late Tuesday night, MLB Network s Jon Heyman took to Twitter and posted an innocuous report about free agent right-hander Trevor Bauer s contract demands. It wasn t anything Earth-shattering as pretty much everyone had a solid idea of what Bauer was asking for. For some reason, that tweet set Bauer off and he went hard after Heyman, starting a back-and-forth that was both mildly entertaining and stupid all at the same time.
Here s what Heyman posted:
Interested teams suggest Trevor Bauer seeks a 5- or 6-year deal for $36M to $40M (about $200M). Bauer is coming off a brilliant Cy Young season but the star market is slow. The record AAV is $36M by Bauer’s UCLA teammate Gerrit Cole. Agent Rachel Luba declines comment on talks. Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) December 30, 2020

Aaron Rodgers did his weekly spot on Tuesday s
Pat McAfee Show and he was excellent as always. Among other topics, the pair discussed Tennessee Titans cornerback Malcolm Butler mocking Rodgers belt celebration after an interception Sunday night. Rodgers was quick to remind McAfee that mocking his celebration doesn t usually turn out well for those who do it.
Video of the segment is below:
After an interception Malcolm Butler did a very subtle Belt celebration I didn t see it, but I think at this point people should know that that just hasn t worked out over the years ~ @AaronRodgers12#PatMcAfeeShowLIVEpic.twitter.com/FXlwmAnDD2 Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) December 29, 2020
