we ve been steamy all weekend. we continue to be so on monday. heat advisories in effect across the carolinas, also the chance to see a few scattered thunderstorms by the afternoon. not only are we feeling the heat here but also across the southwest, another day of triple-digit heat in las vegas. kendis and reena, back to you. molly, thank you so much. that searing heat not good news for crews fighting wildfires in five states this morning. and now, red flag warnings are spreading across a sixth state, nevada, where new fires could erupt at any moment. abc s ryan owens reports on the battle. reporter: dozens of new fires popping up across alaska. there are 145 burning across its vast wilderness. more than 30 homes destroyed. in california, 500 residents evacuate after a new fire breaks out near san luis ibispo. the state s largest fire, the so-called lake fire, is burning in the san bernardino mountains east of los angeles. an aerial assault all weekend
constructed. tougher to climb. just a little more challenging. okay. we ve got two tsa screeners have been fired. why? because several men complained of being groped. so we re talking about a male and female agent here. accused of working together at denver international airport to inappropriately touch passengers. police say the male agent would signal his co-worker the female when he thought a male traveler was attractive. that passenger was then singled out for a patdown and then ended up being groped by this screener. the investigation is ongoing as new victims come forward. there are new questions this morning about the training of that volunteer deputy in tulsa who says he mistakenly shot and killed a suspect. robert bates claimed he received firearms training from police in arizona but the sheriff s department has no record of that. that s not the only question now swirling around the case. as ryan owens reports. reporter: when that oklahoma volunteer deputy confused a gun
