ASX to edge up, Wall St modestly higher on techs

Australian shares are poised to edge up with US benchmarks Dow and the S&P 500 trading modestly higher. The Nasdaq was higher, bolstered by tech shares.
ASX futures were up 10 points or 0.2 per cent to 6625 near 7am AEDT. The local currency slipped 0.4 per cent; the Bloomberg dollar spot index edged up 0.1 per cent.
The yield on the US 10-year note was 4 basis points lower to 1.09 per cent shortly after 3pm in New York.
In New York, stocks were modestly higher bolstered by a 7.9 per cent leap in Intel after the company unexpectedly replaced its chief executive. At about 3.08pm, the Dow was up just over 12 points.
