GenSan starts no vaccine card, no entry policy

Under Executive Order (EO) 1 Series of 2022, the barangay and Philippine National Police would be asking for vaccination certificates or vaccination cards on coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) upon entry into the establishments. The policy started January 17 as stated on the EO issued by Mayor Ronnel Rivera and a copy of which was released to the media on Tuesday. According to Barangay Calumpang chairperson Ryan Dupalco, he and his colleagues at the city's 26 barangays are now implementing the new policy. GenSan IATF bans cockfighting after derby attendees test positive for COVID-19

Published January 14, 2021, 2:38 PM GENERAL SANTOS CITY- The local Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID has banned the holding of cockfighting in the city after  two people who attended a derby in Barangay Calumpang this city tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). City Mayor Ronnel Rivera has recalled all permits issued by the city government for the holding of derby and cockfighting in the city. He said the local IATF has recommended the prohibition of face-to-face cockfighting after receiving reports on the violations of minimum health protocols, especially social distancing, during cockfighting in cockpit areas. The mayor said the local IATF has expressed concern that the cockpits might be the source of transmission of the virus among cockfighting aficionados.
