The Denver Broncos worst fear was realized on Tuesday when starting right tackle Ja Wuan James suffered a season-ending Achilles tear while working out away from the team facility. The high-dollar veteran, signed back in the spring of 2019 on a four-year, $51 million deal, is facing the distinct possibility of losing his considerable $10M salary for 2021 because the injury happened away from the team facility.
One of the cons of the NFLPA urging players to boycott Phase 1 of the Offseason Training Program. However, the Broncos could opt to handle James in the same way the team managed the Ryan Clady injury back in 2015 when he suffered a knee injury during a pick-up basketball game.
Bengal Draft Picks NFL Comps (first 4 rounds) By biggie22 on May 3, 2021, 1:42am EDT +
Jamar Chase - Love this player & can’t wait to see him suited up for us; I think he’s going to be an absolute stud.. Having said that, he’s a pretty unique player and this was actually one of the harder comps for me come up with in this exercise.. I’ve seen comparisons ranging from Larry Fitzgerald to Julio Jones.. Although both those guys are great, I feel like the best comp I’ve found for Chase is that he’s a bigger Steve Smith Sr..
Broncoman 2021 Mock Draft 29.0 - Strengthen the Offense By Broncoman on Apr 16, 2021, 2:45pm MDT +
Free agency has been about strengthening the Broncos defense, so with a draft full of some impact players, I thought I would do a mock where I say we look to bolster the offense.
Pick 9 - Kyle Pitts, TE Florida, Likely the top overall positional player in this draft, this kid is not really a TE and not really a WR. With his size and speed combination, he is a matchup nightmare and instantly elevated the Denver receiving group to an elite status. Pitts provides a middle of the field and downfield threat that will make it virtually impossible to role any double coverage on anyone in the Broncos. With the top 4 QBs off the board here, I took who I thought could make a huge immediate impact this year. If Lock can t succeed with the players here then I think Denver will be an very attractive team to any potential FA QBs next season or rookie QBs.
