Rutherford Countians who decided to vote on election day found long lines at many of the polling centers. Several of the poll workers WGNS spoke with said lines were long and it was a steady stream all day Tuesday. Rutherford County Election Administrator Alan Farley reports the unofficial number of voters was 75,552. That is 36.68% of the registered 205,992 voters:

Voter turnout on election day was very high in Rutherford County. The midterm elections of November 8th have been highly anticipated. Despite races that aren't expected to be competitive in a Republican heavy county, long lines were reported at vote centers all across the county.
