Former members of Alliance Women s Club gathered for lunch July 29 at Alliance Country Club.
Hostess Barbara Shoemaker welcomed the 34 ladies in attendance, and introduced her committee, including Paula Lee, Connie Mohr, RuthAnn Rinto and Georgene Gross.
Former President Dottie Callender gave a financial update on the proceeds from the sale of The Alliance Woman’s Club. The funds will be placed in a donor adviser account with The Greater Alliance Foundation. Several former members of Alliance Woman’s Club will rotate on a donor advisory committee.
Shoemaker told those on hand that the new owner of the club’s former building said he is renovating it to be used as an event center.

The board re-elected Wendy Doyle as president and elected Denise Rhodes as vice president.
Also at the meeting, the board appointed the following: Doyle as delegate and Rhodes as alternate delegate to the OSBA Annual Conference; RuthAnn Rinto as OSBA legislative liaison; Rinto as acting board secretary at board meetings if treasurer is absent; Justin Medure as PTO liaison; Heather Mercer as United Community liaison; Mercer as student achievement liaison; Medure and Rinto for Athletic Council; Doyle and Treasurer Melissa Baker for Audit Committee; and Medure and Rhodes for Building and Grounds Committee.
The board also appointed former board member Mike Ellyson as Columbiana County Career and Technical Center board representative for a two-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2022, but reserved the right to change the appointment length to one year based on feedback from the career center. School boards are permitted to name a community member as its career center representative and Ellyson
