Cape metro police arrested a 27-year-old man after discovering what officials described as a “bakkie-load” of cannabis in Tambo Village on Monday evening.

CAPE TOWN – Two suspects have been arrested in Somerset West following the discovery of dagga - worth about R1.5 million.
The Cape Town metro police s K-9 unit executed a search warrant at a house in Sir Lowry s Pass on Friday, which resulted in the discovery of the dagga.
The City Of Cape Town Metro Police s Ruth Solomons said, “The found 655 higher grade dagga plants cultivated in the rooms, three bags of dagga and a bottle of THC oil. The estimated value of the find is R1.5 million. Two suspects aged 34 and 40 were arrested and detained at Somerset West Saps.”

A commendable crime fighting duo caught a suspected drug dealer found in possession of drugs worth thousands of rands on the N2 for a second time last Wednesday (6 January).
Metro Police officer Mosuli Faku and his canine counterpart, Savage, sniffed out drugs worth an estimated R120 000 stashed inside a suspicious motor vehicle which was flagged down on the highway just before the Gordonâs Bay/N2 intersection.
Earlier it the day, Metro police officers arrested three suspects on drug charges, in separate incidents. One of them was found in possession of 38 bankies of dagga, a plastic bag filled with dagga, eight dagga cigarettes and a parcel filled with dagga, said Solomons.
In Bothasig, the K9 Unit pulled a vehicle over during a routine stop and requested permission to search the vehicle after noticing that the driver appeared restless. K9 Savage detected drugs hidden in a sock inside the backrest of the passenger seat. Officers confiscated 50 units of cocaine with an estimated street value of R23 000 and just more than R3 000 in cash, she says.
