The snow really in itself hasnt arrived here in philadelphia, but i promise is you, january, it is on the way and moving in later this morning and this afternoon. We have a lot of dry air in place across the greater philadelphia area. Dew points, really low, actually in the upper teens, so, we want to have to wait for that dry air to be erroded before we see some saturation happening in the air column, and some snow beginning to fall. Pattern. As we head into the afternoon thats where we will see some of the flakes flying across the region. Let me start you out with a look at storm scan3, youll notice that we are very dry across the greater philadelphia region, even into portions every south jersey, as well as delaware. Weve had some snow showers from time to time down the shore early this morning, expecting to see a lot more of that, though, as we head later throughout the day today. It is 36 degrees right now in philadelphia. We are in the mid 30s in wilmington, 34 in millville, 31 down the shore in wildwood. And right around 34 degrees in Atlantic City. Look at these dew points, though, there is a lot of dry air in place, dew point around 19 degrees, in philadelphia, 24 in wilmington, we are going to have to overcome that dry air before we really start to see a snow moving in and snow accumulations beginning across the region. The papal visit. The only way folks can get across the ben franklin bridge while the pope is here is to walk. David henry is here now. You talked to residents in south jersey about it. Reporter yes, the ben franklin bridge between philadelphia and south jersey is a final link for new jersey and pennsylvania and even on the weekends but it will be closed of the weekend of september 26th and schools and employers on the jersey side are starting to make adjustments. When the ben franklin bridge closes down for that weekend, Rutgers Camden will also be closed. Monday classes are also canceled because the bridge will be closed on monday the 28 and, many are staffers and students coming from philadelphia. But many are expected to choke the area around camden as people adjust to the closing.
