Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers increasing rewards for tips on violent crimes (Source: Hawaii News Now/file) By Julia Bingel | May 3, 2021 at 2:31 PM EDT - Updated May 3 at 2:31 PM CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Due to an increase in violent crime, the Cuyahoga County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors announced Monday their organization will be increasing their cash rewards for information. Crime Stoppers will now pay tipsters up to $5,000 for information on murders and other violent crimes involving a firearm. This is double what the organization would normally pay. Crime Stoppers helps all local and federal law enforcement agencies in Cuyahoga County.

As Rustom Khouri, CEO of Westlake-based real estate development company Carnegie Management & Development Corp., discusses conditions among the firm s shopping centers in 17 states, he sees the challenge as weathering the storm. In Northeast Ohio, he owns three centers with substantial movie theaters that are not paying rent amid the pandemic and feels the company has a lot of vacancies. He s also thankful that his company kept leverage, and mortgage payments with it, low over the years.
