and interesting exchange with sheldoitehouse, a democrat from rhode island who asked him without any context, is it ever right for prosecutors to put out derogatory information about someone who is investigated but not charged? clearly a reference to what james comey said about hillary clinton back in july, and sessions said it would be dangerous to do that. and finally he was asked about the intelligence committee s report on russian hacking. he said he has no reason to doubt the report about russian hacking, that he s not seeing any evidence to the contrary. so i think you ve seen the main themes here from the democrats on the committee. you know, the subtext of all these confirmation hearings, no matter who is in the white house, no matter who is in charge of the congress is for the congress to say yeah, the constitution may say we re equal branches but you know we re really in charming here, to sort of lay down a marker and also to try to build walls that sort of contain the nomine
