British prime minister Rishi Sunak has announced a ban on Russian diamonds over the invasion of Ukraine. Other G7 countries are also considering sanctioning the priceless gems from Moscow. This comes as the Vladimir Putin-led country earned $4.7 billion from exports in 2021. The question, however, is: Will the sanctions be effective?
