KUALA LUMPUR: It is important to maintain the newly-signed Russia-Ukraine grain deal as it could lead to a potential ceasefire in the conflict that began in late February this year, says Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu.
According to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Ukraine and Russia have reached an agreement that will allow the resumption of crucial grain exports from Ukrainian Black Sea ports.
Russia and Ukraine will sign a deal on Friday to reopen Ukrainian Black Sea ports for grain exports, Turkey and the United Nations said, raising hopes that an international food crisis aggravated by the Russian invasion can be eased.
