Three days after the crash of malaysia air lights flight 17 outrage is growing around the world over how the rebels in Eastern Ukraine are handling both the victims bodies and the physical evidence. More on that in a moment. But first this has been the deadliest day yet in the gaza conflict. 90 palestinians were killed today as were 13 Israeli Soldiers. Two of them american citizens. That pushes the 13day death toll to at least 425 palestinians and 20 israelis. The white house says president obama expressed, quote, serious concern over the escalating death toll in a phone call today to israeli Prime Minister benjamin netanyahu. Secretary of state kerry will soon be heading to the region in search of a ceasefire. And the u. N. Security council is meeting on gaza tonight. Fighting. 20 israelis were killed including 13 soldiers, two americans fighting for israel are among the dead. Barry petersen is in gaza where families are mourning their losses. Reporter when the shelling began, the people ran for their lives. I was crying and shouting she told us. I saw bodies spread in the street. I have never seen anything like this. For hours the shells poured in. There were brief humanitarian ceasefires when rescuers raced to find the wounded, but mostly they only found the dead. I saw the israeli tanks firing rounds at us said this man, and so this was a day of grieving at the overwhelmed morgue in the citys hospital. Theres an inefficiency about death. As soon as family identifies one body, theres another to take its place. The family of this man spent the morning mourning when his ambulance was hit by a shell. A relative tried to make sense of his loss. He wasnt a fighter, she said. He was a fighter for humanity, an ambulance worker. Why did he deserve to die

We have just learned that ukrainian rebels have turned over to investigators the flightdata recorders of the malaysian flight 17 which was shot down thursday over Eastern Ukraine. It has been four agonizing days for the families who lost loved ones on flight 17. They pleaded for the return of the remains of their loved ones. Today the pro russian rebels who control the area of Eastern Ukraine where the plane was shot down sent them home in rail cars. 282 of the 298 victims have been recovered so far. The u. N. Security council including russia demanded that the rebels now allow investigators safer and unrestricted access to the crash site. Pelley good evening. The chance that air travelers could again become casualties of war led the United States today to ban u. S. Flights to tel aviv. European airlines did the same. This followed a rocket attack by Palestinian Militants that came too close to the tel aviv airport. The u. S. Ban is to last just 24 hours, but late today, israelis Prime Minister asked that the ban be lifted immediately. Cost and the expense. And we used to banter this around in the Cheyenne Mountain on a lot of cold, dark nights on alert and doing an exercise or for real world contingency. And often times, we would sort of come to the conclusion, what is it worth to us . Is it worth seattle . San fransbn, or los angeles, or increasingly now colorado, denver, heartland of america. Potentially in the future eastern seaboard, boston, new york, washington, d. C. Is it worth the investment in f. These systems to pretend to ok protect what we value the most. Thats our homeland, our way of life. I think the answer, my personal answer is yes. And so, im an optimist about this. Not without our challenges. We continue to deal with those challenges. Weve got the best and brightest people. I can tell you. I wish you could meet a lot of them. Phenomenal people working these issues. Im really proud to work with them and be their deputy director. Im humbled to do that. Theyre doing some really important work. And i
