Proponents of a proposed constitutional amendment that would remove Pope County as a site for a casino said they turned in about 103,000 signatures of registered voters Friday in their attempt to qualify their proposed measure for the Nov. 8 general election ballot.
A Pope County Quorum Court resolution scolding the county judge for his part in the contentious casino issue there was overwhelmingly adopted in a special meeting Monday, but voided Tuesday morning because of procedural errors.
Some members of the Pope County Quorum Court say they want the public to know that the county judge does not represent them when it comes to the casino controversy there.
