Bullying at every school, principal Thompson says
An altercation between two pupils at Masterton Intermediate School [MIS] last week ended with one pupil wielding a knife.
Principal Russell Thompson said a Year 8 pupil had been intimidating a younger pupil when the latter lost his temper on Wednesday morning before school.
The aggressor had pushed the younger pupil to the ground and attempted to take some money from him.
There must also be a rigorous business plan made public and critiqued by an independent third party. That didn’t happen a few years ago when a Commonwealth Games bid was floated, rather initial support was garnered in secret around the Capital Regional District table and endorsed without the public weighing in. The province wisely declined to provide financial support and eventually the bid fell apart. About 200 posts poured in expressing outrage and disappointment that the sculpture, a neighbourhood landmark for more than 50 years, had been treated in such a disrespectful fashion and lay crumpled on the ground. article continues below
And how can the city afford expensive Christmas decorations but can’t afford to livestream their meetings? It appears they have taken advantage of the pandemic to push controversial zoning through, ignoring public input and their taxpayers’ wishes. Langford is allowing so many mega buildings built right up to the sidewalks, there is no room left to widen streets, leave trees or green space. Every square inch of developable land is being filled in, making Langford the new Colwood Crawl. It’s time to shake things up at Langford City Hall, and get some accountability from the mayor and his cohorts working together to build on every available inch of this once enjoyable city.
