A state of emergency has been declared in that city after this violence broke out. It was at a rally held by White Nationalists. Counterprotesters showed up in large numbers. It happened as they were making their way to Emancipation Park where a noon eastern rally was planned. It was scheduled to protest the removal of a statue of the general robert e. Lee. Obviously tensions rose dramatically as these two groups faced off amid very mild Police Presence at the time.
