This is from charlottesville, virginia. Youve seen video from early, just a couple of hours ago where it is clearly very, very tense. A state of emergency has been declared in that city after this violence broke out. It was at a rally held by White Nationalists. Counterprotesters showed up in large numbers. It happened as they were making their way to Emancipation Park where a noon eastern rally was planned. It was scheduled to protest the removal of a statue of the general robert e. Lee. Obviously tensions rose dramatically as these two groups faced off amid very mild Police Presence at the time. We saw Water Bottles flying back and forth, police were using tear gas to try to break up this crowd. Baseball bats, sticks. We saw people struck.
