another story we are watch sg the extreme weather from coast to coast in normally dry phoenix, thunderstorms that washed out roads leading to dramatic water rescues. helicopters needed. drivers were trapped in their vehicles by the rushing floodwater. as much as two inches of rain fell in the phoenix area sunday. thousands of residents and tourists allowed to return to their communities near palm springs, california. they have been evacuated because of the mountain fire. it burned 30,000 acres. heavy weekend rains were a help to battling the blaze. it destroyed dozens of homes. the fires are 68% contained. that is good news. while the heat across the country has been followed by a cool wave, many folks are impacted by severe weather. indra petersons is tracking that. good morning to you. good morning. this is one of those summer
