Graded stakes winners Sheza Fast Blood, KK Sandra Patriot, and Blood Money are among the 153 Louisiana-bred 2-year-olds entered in this weekend’s 350-yard Lee Berwick Futurity (RG1) trials at Delta Downs.
A total of 16 heats will be contested eight on Friday and eight on Saturday. The five fastest qualifiers from each night of trials will meet in the July 31, $1 million-est. Lee Berwick Futurity final.

Louisiana Downs honored its leading jockey, trainer and owner for its 44-day Quarter Horse meet, which ended April 7.
The meet, which began January 23, was impacted by the major winter storm in Louisiana, as sub-freezing temperatures significantly affected both the facility and travel to the Shreveport-Bossier City area. Citing safety for horses and humans, eight race days (February 13-23) were canceled.
“We thank our horsemen and fans for their support during our Quarter Horse meet and appreciate their patience in the difficult challenges due to the winter storm,” said Louisiana Downs direct
