The plaintiff in a lawsuit alleging abuse at the Youth Development Center in the 1990s wants eight criminal defendants to take the stand though they are expected invoke their right
In the trial's opening statements, David Meehan’s lawyer claimed Meehan was treated like a "child sex slave" at the center, which is still in operation
David Meehan alleges he was raped 'on an almost daily basis' during the last year of his incarceration at the Sununu Youth Services Center, per the civil complaint. His lawyer, in opening statements at the trial, says he was treated like a 'child sex slave and a punching bag,' at the facility.

I was appalled to read the
Monitor’s March 2 front page story describing the latest allegations of physical and sexual abuse by 150 workers at the state run Sununu Youth Center in Manchester. Of great concern is the statement “systemic, governmental child abuse that occurred was allowed to occur because there wasn’t sufficient oversight, and the state was institutionally negligent,” from Rus Riley, lawyer suing the state of NH on behalf of adults allegedly abused as youth at the Sununu Youth Center.
It is unclear where this investigation stands as later, the article states some of the charges were dropped and the state (of NH) was granted extensions, then filed a motion to dismiss the case. There is more to this story which the public should learn.
