crack down on chinese currency manipulation. speaker boehner and eric cantor refused to allow that legislation to the floor. how does mitt romney say he will crack down on chinese currency manipulation where house republicans very much like yourself will not move on it? well, luke, you know, you don t have to be from buffalo to understand there is what you can do publicly, and keep the pressure on in terms of negotiations that are going on behind the scenes, between our two governments. you have to be careful, especially, i think, with the chinese in that sometimes if we take an action that goes too far, it causes them to back up. we don t want that. now, i want them to live by the rules. i supported putting them into the wto so that all the nations could come together, we could get china to operate under a set of laws and rules that are global. and so far i don t think china has been the best player at that. so i welcome either president romney or president obama making sure that ch
getting more numbers. we re not yet able to make a projection based on these first round, second round of these exit polls. we re getting more. let me walk over to john king and explain what s going on. no projection yet. but it seems at least according to the early exit polls information, the new numbers in the exit polls are still coming in. looks like it s going to be a good night for mitt romney. every reason to believe that governor romney will win the state of illinois. if you ve been with us through past primary nights, the people who just finished voting talking to the exit polls now. santorum does better in that lastaway. and often senator santorum has overperformed his last poll numbers. we re being cautious. we d rather get it right than wrong. we can tell things if we look at the electorate today. we ve seen this in some other states. nearly 4 in 10 voters today say beating president obama is the most important quality. if you look here, among those voters,
and at the same time, the money, the billions of dollars, egypt and israel the two largest recipients of u.s. aid. that s clearly in the mind of the people in the streets in cairo. there s no question. you can t separate the occasional american strong condemnation of their infringement on having an equitable society from the fact that the relationship is primarily built on military and strategic and diplomatic concerns that affect the region. there s no doubt that egypt has been a force for good in the region and helped the united states achieve a lot of its goals. but when you have citizens with access to the internet, particularly young people, striving for a more representative country with fair elections, with representative democracy, you re going to have a conflict with what has been long-standing american policy. it s easy for critics to say the administration should do more on this. there s a reason why presidents tend to side with stable rurals. but in this case, egypt is
wolf, of the sense out there, and some people it is angry and some people it is frustration and some people, it is disgust that washington can t get its act together and face the issues facing the country, and the tea party is identified to send in the people who are anti-washington, and anti-establishment and stir it up. especially if you look closely into the polling of the suburbs and the rural areas. if you overlay the suburbs and the rural areas with the map of the congressional and the most contested congressional districts, they are in the suburbs and the rurals, and the democrats tend to hold the urban districts. so anyway, it is more and more bad news with the numbers. and the tea party to 2010 is what president obama was to 2008. he was the change and the hope and the guy who seemed to be fighting the insiders, and now he is one. and look at this poll number ant enthusiasm which is so important, john. are you extremely or very enthusiastic ability voe yas st
get a majority to form a parliament, a government. so they ll have to do some negotiating after the results are all in. and, while it s been said that the u.s. and britain share a special bond. we ve also been called two countries divided by one language. what do we on this side of the pond know about politics on the other side. let s bring some our own international relations expert richard rupp. we got a small taste of it when we heard the open mike disaster with gordon brown. yes, anchors are also familiar, i know, in cnn history, with open mikes. yes, the polls are open in britain. -their citizens voted by mail from the usa. i wandered down to a section of the new york city where you tend to find some of the queen s subjects and rurals who are found of them to see where the election is being followed. nicky perry follows the british election from her store in greenwich village. it s called tea and sympathy. but she s not everying any tea
