Stage 2 Fire Restrictions announced for Cascade County MTN and last updated 2021-07-15 19:51:55-04 GREAT FALLS — Stage 2 Fire Restrictions will go into effect in Cascade County at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021 and will remain in force until further notice. Cascade County Fire Warden Brad Call said in a news release on Thursday that the increase from Stage 1 is due to continuing long-duration unseasonably warm and dry conditions. The National Interagency Fire Center says that fire restrictions help land management agencies reduce fire risk and prevent wildfires during periods of high to extreme danger. Under Stage Two Restrictions: Open burning is prohibited including any wood or combustible material in fire pits, rings etc. including private residences

Stage One Fire Restrictions announced for Cascade County Effective at 12:01 a.m. on July 7 MTN and last updated 2021-07-06 20:04:18-04 GREAT FALLS — Cascade County Fire Warden Brad Call said on Tuesday afternoon that due to unseasonably warm and dry conditions, Stage One Fire Restrictions will be be implemented effective at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, and will remain in effect until further notice. Call said in a news release, “The County remains under high fire danger conditions due to extended hot temperatures and a general lack of moisture. We’ve had very warm to hot days with hot temperatures holding into the late evening. This warm weather, coupled with the lack of rainfall and low relative humidity, necessitate Stage One Fire Restrictions until further notice.”
