But in many ways, it reminds us of images that we might see on the news today. It is hard to ignore the human stories of families perishing it see. Refugees are suffocating in meat trucks. They are crowding onto leaky boats. They are drowning. The bodies of those who are unable to cross to safety are washing up on mediterranean beaches.
