Carmarthenshire businesses offered pop-up shops amongst national chains

Emily, owner of Pretty Little Props SMALL local businesses are being given the opportunity to display and sell their goods amongst big high street chains as part of Carmarthenshire Council’s 100% Sir Gâr initiative. The council has secured a pop-up shop at a prime location in Carmarthen s St Catherine s Walk over two weeks in August, to be followed by a second pop up venue at Pembrey Country Park. Local producers and arts and crafts businesses including One of a Find, CWRW, Louise Jones Arts and Anrhegion Eli Mai Gifts are amongst those that are taking advantage of the space to display and share their goods.

April 1, 2021, 6:34 pm In 2005/2006 as the Doha round of World Trade Organisation (WTO) talks seemed set on an inevitable ‘giveaway trade’ deal that would sacrifice much of Irish agriculture and particularly its beef sector, the food sector, in conjunction with the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA), looked at employment across the Irish economy on a ‘per county’ basis. The interesting fact that this analysis highlighted was that in at least 16 of the 26 counties in Ireland at the time, farming and agribusiness were the biggest employer. This was huge news to the modern economy bodies and a government at the time which had just jointly declared agriculture to be a sunset industry!

Government approves plan for 100 days in office

The Estonian government on Thursday approved its plan of actions for the first 100 days in office. The most important task is exiting the coronavirus crisis. The government has set eight overall objectives - principles for exiting the COVID-19 crisis, healthy people, smart economy, green Estonia, smart and educated people, active and protected Estonia, well-balanced Estonia, and open and secure rule of law. Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said the government s plan for the first 100 days in office as ambitious. During the next 100 days, the government will engage both in resolving critical issues of the COVID-19 crisis as well as strategic tasks that look to the future and will take life in Estonia forward. The wellbeing of the people of Estonia, the economy and the environment will be continuously in the center of our attention, the premier said.
