Inmarsat appoints former Nokia boss Rajeev Suri as CEO Inmarsat, the UK satellite communications services provider, has announced that Rajeev Suri, a former Nokia CEO, will assume the role of CEO. He will join the business officially from 1 March 2021, with Rupert Pearce – the current CEO – stepping down from 28 February. Most recently Suri was President and CEO of Nokia, a position he held for six years. Before that, he was the CEO of Nokia Siemens Networks for five years, a joint venture company that merged Nokia’s and Siemens’ networks businesses. Since stepping down in August 2020, he has worked in senior advisory roles with private equity firms Warburg Pincus and Apollo Global Management.

Rajeev will also become a director of Connect Bidco Limited, the holding company for Inmarsat. He succeeds Rupert Pearce who is stepping down as CEO of Inmarsat on 28 February 2021. Rajeev joins Inmarsat from Nokia where he was President and CEO for six years. Ex-Nokia chief Suri lands at Inmarsat - Mobile World Live 24 FEB 2021 Former Nokia boss Rajeev Suri ( pictured) was appointed as CEO of satellite communications provider Inmarsat, replacing Rupert Pearce who will step down on 28 February after nine years in the role. In a statement, Inmarsat said Suri would become CEO and join the board of Inmarsat’s parent company’s Connect Bidco from 1 March. Pearce will provide advisory services to Suri for a transitional period. Suri left Nokia in August 2020 after six years as president and CEO, and a broader stint spanning 25 years with the Finnish vendor. He was replaced by former energy company boss Pekka Lundmark.
